in order for the body to work, one’s heart needs to be positioned in specific coordinates of the skeletal map. high up enough that it reaches the brain swiftly, but central enough that it supports other vital organs and just sufficiently low that it can sometimes persuade the sex before logic - for some this distance could well be stretched.
in order for one to be perceived as a good, well-rounded person, the heart must pump the blood in the vicinity of these requirements, otherwise, other eyes might notice and misjudge one’s character, for the essential functions won’t be as nature intended - and nature intends well, of course.
but in order for relationships to match with one another, for them to be able to sustain and thrive and even grow into something more, more than the heart needs to be exactly where the heart needs to be. the mind, its best-friendly archenemy, with all its systems and connections, its idiosyncrasies and reflections, demands accordance and synchrony. and when such a phenomenon doesn’t occur, it will as quickly as simply dismiss more than the person’s face by incontrovertibly saying ‘their heart was in the right place’.
